Phil Martelly

A graduate of the esteemed Berklee College of Music in Boston, his passion for music is unmatched by few and is a driving force behind his bringing School of Rock to the Southern Mass/Rhode Island area. He is the definition of the word musician as he plays not one but several instruments: guitar, bass and drums. Phil has played with a lot of the area's hottest bands including Pappy Chulo as the opening act for none other than Incubus.
Shawn Garrity

Shawn's musical journey began at age eleven when his dad handed him a guitar and taught him a few chords. As he grew, so did his love for music. At fifteen, he joined a band and began writing music and playing original and cover songs at venues throughout New England. He studied jazz and classical music at Western Connecticut State University and earned a B.A. in Music Industry from the University of New Haven. Shawn's original band VulGarrity completed three nationwide tours and shared the stage with Mike Doughty, Days of the New, The Misfits, King’s X, Sponge, The Joy Formidable, Sleeper Agent, Psychostick, The Prodigals, Ra, Robert DeLong, The Heavy, Ra Ra Riot and Electric Six. Shawn's cover band Inside Out can be seen rocking out on stages in and around New England regularly. While Shawn enjoys listening to and playing a wide variety of music, he is most inspired by all things rock.
Scott Roddick
Music Director
Scott started playing music at the age of ten. He studied jazz and classical music at Rhode Island College, and holds a Bachelors Degree in Music Composition. Scott has played in several groups throughout New England. Currently he plays with Hungry Freaks, Interplay and Take It To The Bridge. He has toured nationally and recorded on three studio albums with Gavin Castleton. Some of his musical influences are Mr. Bungle, St. Vincent, TV On The Radio and Primus.
Kevin Williams
Guitar Teacher, Bass Guitar Teacher, Singing Teacher, Keyboard + Piano Teacher
Kevin has well over two decades of performing and teaching experience. He has had music featured on cable networks like The Discovery Channel, the BET Network, and others.
Kevin is best known as a blazing blues guitarist with Worcester, MA-based contemporary R&B act Blue Honey and his rocking blues combo The Kevin Williams Trio. He has toured and performed internationally and has been featured on several recordings as a guitarist, vocalist, bassist, keyboardist, and as a producer.
Nathan Wilcox

Nathan’s passion for music began at the age of 3 after his dad first introduced him to the music of Paul McCartney. Throughout his childhood, Nathan taught himself how to play piano and drums but eventually began taking guitar lessons at age 14 at School of Rock.
As a multi-instrumentalist, Nathan has played across the East Coast with the School of Rock Seekonk House Band as well as with the prestigious Rhode Island cover band, Inside Out. Despite having played hundreds of gigs, teaching students and directing performance groups is very fulfilling for Nathan. Some of his musical influences include Paul McCartney, Harry Styles, and John Mayer.
Mike Perrotta
Drum Teacher
Mike started playing drums at the age of 11 and was a former School Of Rock student himself. After graduating Mike began to play with many different artists and has toured and recorded music all around the country. His current gig is with the rock band 'Kingsmen' based out of Providence, Rhode Island.
Matt Arenburg
Drum Teacher
Matt started playing drums at age 4 and joined School Of Rock Seekonk at age 8. He quickly became one of the youngest members of the school’s house band and has toured the east coast and played hundreds of shows as a member of the school as well as with various other side projects. Matt is also the 2016 and 2019 A.T.A.M. New England Drum Champion. Some of his musical influences include Neil Peart, Steven Wilson, Gavin Harrison, Justin Tyson, Marco Minnemann and Stewart Copeland
Ziggy Coffey
Drum Teacher
Ziggy Coffey is a musician with many talents. As a drummer, he performs with the fuzz metal act Princess and the hypersonic surf rock trio The Z-Boys. He also has his own solo project as the moniker Ziggy Gnardust that incorporates garage rock, punk, alternative and psychedelic stylings into an energetic array of music that show off his talents on multiple instruments. As a performer, Ziggy has shared the stage with several national acts including Fishbone, KRS-ONE, Arrested Development and Deer Tick.
Sydney Murphy
Keyboard Teacher, Singing Teacher
In addition to being a classically trained pianist, Sydney is an accomplished vocalist and multi-instrumental musician. She has performed throughout New England, first as a School of Rock student, next as a School of Rock instructor, and with several solo performances throughout. Her influences run the gamut from Bach to The Eagles to Alice Cooper.
Ceili Spaulding
Singing Teacher, Keyboard + Piano Teacher, Guitar Teacher, Songwriting Teacher
Originally from the forests of Maine, Ceili became saturated in music at an early age, thanks to her father. She performed in Chamber Singers and All-State competitions as a kid then started taking guitar lessons at 11 years old and piano at age 13. She released her first album in her junior year of high school, which helped her receive a scholarship to attend Berklee College of Music in 2015. After performing at open mics and electronic night events, as well as co-writing with fellow students, and attending basement shows with her friends in the Boston area, she graduated with a bachelor's degree in Songwriting in 2019.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, Ceili obtained a Music Business Specialization Certificate from Berklee Online. She started teaching voice, guitar, piano, production, and songwriting lessons in February 2021. In October 2021, Ceili released her most recent single, "Oh Edison." Songwriting is her passion, but teaching has become immensely fulfilling for her. She truly believes that studying music and creating songs is a powerful way to express emotions while having fun! Everyone moves at their own pace, and Ceili is always willing to meet her students wherever they are to help grow their artistry.
Ashley Dulac

Ashley’s passion for music started at a very young age when she would sing and perform for her family and friends. By the age of 14, she started private vocal lessons which led her to perform in musical theater in high school.
Ashley followed her musical journey and attended the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth where she studied jazz voice and received her BA in Music in 2022. Fresh out of her undergrad, she pursued her graduate studies in music therapy and is currently working toward becoming a board-certified music therapist.
Ashley started teaching vocal lessons in 2022 and has truly loved every moment of making music and teaching what she loves to others.
Connor DeVito
Drum Teacher, Bass Guitar Teacher, Guitar Teacher
Connor (they/them) started playing music at 9 years old, first studying the drums, then picking up bass, and finally learning guitar. They studied at Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts where they played with countless bands. Connor eventually joined the internationally touring punk and metal band Elizabeth Colour Wheel with whom they still tour with regularly.
Connor's influences are wide-ranging, from bebop jazz and '70s funk to hardcore punk and death metal. They believe in breaking musical concepts down to their bare parts in order to build from the ground up and promote musicianship and creativity over all else.
Andrew Patterson
Bass Guitar Teacher, Guitar Teacher, Drum Teacher, Keyboard + Piano Teacher
Originally from Rhode Island, Andrew is a musician and educator. He holds degrees from the University of Southern Maine in music and in linguistics. His performing career has led him through extensive international travels. Andrew’s primary instrument is bass, however, he also teaches guitar, keyboards, and drums.
Andrew's long list of musical influences is extensive and includes Bach, Beethoven, Stravinsky, Bird, Miles Davis, anything that swings, The Grateful Dead, the usual '60s and '70s guitar bands, most grunge, most hip-hop, Peruvian psychedelic cumbia, Cape Verdean music, Afro-Cuban stuff, the blues, and so much more.
Having taught both music and ESL, Andrew takes a multidisciplinary approach to most things in life. When not teaching Andrew enjoys reading, working on his family’s house, and spending time with his wife and daughter.
