Sadie
Singing Teacher, Keyboard + Piano Teacher
Originally from Medway, MA, Sadie is a vocal and keyboard instructor at School of Rock Natick. Even before she was born, Sadie grew up around music. With both parents having studied music performance in college and one being a professional musician, Sadie knew from a young age that she wanted to pursue a future in the arts. She started learning basic piano at age 3 and resumed teaching herself once she started high school.

Sadie has been a classical flute and piccolo player for over a decade now, and her background in orchestras and concert bands helped to build a strong understanding of music theory. Though her upbringing was largely in classical music and instruments, Sadie knew in elementary school she wanted to begin singing, focusing on popular and rock and roll music.

Starting in high school, Sadie began to take singing more seriously and performed in several of her school’s musicals, joined (and later co-directed) her school’s a cappella groups, and began teaching private flute, piccolo, and voice lessons. Once she started college at UMass Amherst, she joined the Concert Band and the a cappella group, The Vocal Suspects. Through her continued role in a cappella, Sadie honed her vocal performance skills while performing at various events on- and off-campus including at orientation week, gigs for various other colleges, and for a theatre in Brattleboro, VT. She has also performed at many coffeehouse gigs as a solo vocal and keyboardist performing covers and original songs.

Sadie is so excited to continue her life in music at School of Rock and plans to utilize the opportunity to finally learn guitar, bass, and drums, and build her piano skills even further. Outside of School of Rock, she continues to practice singing and piano daily and play local gigs when possible.

Thomas
Drum Teacher
Thomas is a drummer, songwriter, and music teacher from Worcester County, Massachusetts, who studied privately at the Joy of Music Program in Worcester from the age of 5 up until he graduated from high school. During his high school years, Thomas was recruited as a jazz drummer for Joy of Music’s locally well-known jazz combo, Jazz Safari, performing around Worcester County at popular restaurants, school concerts, and fundraising and charitable events. Thomas also took part in his high school’s selective jazz combo and eventually continued his study of jazz at Trinity College in Hartford, where he currently studies Psychology and Music Production, becoming well-versed in many styles of drumming.

It was also during this time that Thomas’s musical and creative interests led him to form an indie rock group, composing, recording, and releasing original music on physical and major media platforms. His group became quite successful and has amassed a steady following in the indie rock scene nationally, bringing him on tours around the United States, and eventually leading him and his group to sign with No Sleep Records when he was 18 years old. The group still writes new music and performs regularly locally and on tour. In the interest of spreading his deep love for music to others as his own instructor did for him, Thomas began privately teaching drum lessons in 2021 and continues today at School of Rock Natick.

Reviews

It pushes kids to be their personal best.

Whether your child is a music prodigy or a beginner this place will make them feel like a rock star. The band concept promotes a team dynamic. It’s not only about the individual playing music, but being a team member of a band.

We absolutely love School of Rock!

My son is learning to play his instrument, learning how to work within a group and learning how to play in front of an audience. But most importantly, he is having a blast.

What an amazing concept.

I love the integration of the lessons with the band practice. What they learn in lessons is immediately put into use. The kids all have a great time together and the staff works hard to promote an atmosphere of fun and inclusion.

The instructors are incredible.

They do a great job keeping the kids engaged and energized. We would definitely recommend to anyone (young or old! beginner or advanced!) to sign up for School of Rock.
